Some of my favorite local artists (in no particular order):

Postsecret - A community art project out of Germantown, Maryland whereby people anonymously create and send postcards of personal secrets. Postsecret: Lonely Pens

"Unfolding" by M. Jordan Tierney

M. Jordan Tierney - I stumbled across this artist at Resurgam Gallery (Baltimore) back in the early 90s and purchased several of her paintings. Recently I was delighted to discover her on the web, and especially like her "newspaper poems."
April is the cruelest month, breeding
Lilacs out of the dead land, mixing
Memory and desire, stirring
Dull roots with spring rain.
Winter kept us warm, covering
Earth in forgetful snow, feeding
A little life with dried tubers.
- from The Wasteland --T. S. Eliot
Patricia Buck - Patricia and I met many years ago in a study group, during the time she was working on her "Metaphysical Iconography" series. A natural teacher and powerful in spirit, her work both confronts and heals.

"I Ching Series: Magenta Light with Copper" by Patricia Buck, c. 1990. Acrylic/collage on paper. 40"Hx26"W.
